Why is it that whenever we have a free moment we’re reaching for our phones or remotes? We are very much so addicted to technology. Constantly, we are scrolling through social media feeds and streaming on Netflix, Prime, or Hulu. Most people get home after work and just plop on the sofa with no intention of moving. That is okay if you just need a day to veg out, but that is an extremely unhealthy habit if it occurs basically every day. It is not good for your mind or body.

Instead of using technology as an escape, take up a hobby or an activity before relaxing for the evening. He is a list of some suggested activities. See if any spark your interest.
- Bike
- Go for a walk
- Paint or draw
- Read a book
- Write
- Learn something new like an instrument or a language
- Start a garden
- Stitching, crocheting, or sewing
- Baking
- Volunteer at a shelter
- Play a card or board game
- Workout or do some yoga
Doing an activity after work will engage your mind, renew your energy, and give you a sense of fulfillment. Sitting in front of a T.V. and scrolling through you phone doesn’t encourage your or improve your self-esteem. When you take an active role in your life, you will notice a change in your attitude and you will also be productive.

Next time you feel bored and not in the greatest mood, do yourself a favor and try something that doesn’t require you to cling to technology. You will be surprised by what a difference it makes.
