The Four Important Acts of Self-Care You Should Focus On

We talked a lot about self-care these days, but what is self-care actually. Self-care means taking care of yourself in all aspects. So, the next time that you think about treating yourself to some TLC know that self-care can be broken down into many categories in your life.

Ask yourself what you are in need of in your life and make the effort to support yourself where you need it. Get in the habit of taking in the good. Read books that empower the idea of good energy and taking care of your needs.

Each of these categories are important in their own way and shouldn’t be swept under the rug.

  1. Physical health taking care of your body, making sure you are contributing to a healthy lifestyle. Meaning a good sleep schedule and proper nutrition as well as exercise. These acts are all tied into tending to the entire body.

2. Taking care of your mental health is just as important. Practice cultivating a lifestyle that tends to your mental well-being. Practice writing down thoughts and put yourself first. Don’t be afraid to talk to someone if needed. Hearing yourself express your thoughts out loud is another way to practice self-care and self-love.

3. Environmental self-care means to watch your surroundings. This involves taking care of the area and space around you.  As well as only putting yourself in environments where you will grow. Your surroundings are very important to your overall health. What we see has an impact on how we function daily.

4. Social self-care. Making sure you’re surrounding yourself with people who respect you and your boundaries, and you can form healthy relationships with above all.

Remember, self-care is all about making time for yourself. So, make sure that you are involving hobbies and interest that speak to you. We tend to push a side our needs. This post is a reminder to push aside anything that hinders you from flourishing.
