We all have those insecurities, especially when it comes to our bodies. It doesn’t help that we live in an age where everything is shared online. This not only gives us unrealistic expectations, but it also leaves us coveting what others have instead of appreciating our own lives. If you look back on society over time, you’ll notice that the standards change a lot and are often based on popular opinion.
The thing is, opinions are not truths, so why would you live, and love based off of what others want? Why would you even care? To be accepted. Is being accepted for something that is not true to you worth tearing yourself apart for? No, it is not. Choose to be happy. Choose to be yourself. Here are some pointers to help get you feeling good in your own skin.
Dress in clothing that makes you feel good. Don’t worry about if it’s the latest trend or if it’s for your body type. That shit doesn’t matter. You can create your own trends. Instead, ask yourself if you feel comfortable and confident in the outfit.

Get rid of negative noise. That means to cut ties with people who have nothing good to say and have trouble with hyping you up. Also, turn comments off on social media if you need a mental break.
Have a self-care routine. These are little things you do to relieve your stress, find happiness, and replenish your soul. The more you practice this, the more you realize your worth and set boundaries.
Do what inspires you. Find a hobby that puts a smile on your face. This will give you something to focus on that isn’t your body and it will be your own personal outlet.

Change your internal dialogue. Stop poking fun at yourself and your supposed flaws. Those “flaws” are what make you unique. Find something positive to replace those bad thoughts with.
There is only one you. That is why it’s imperative to co-habitate peacefully with your inner self. Once you learn to do this, you will radiate from the inside out. Everyone will be asking how they can be as beautiful as you!
